Health Alert: Confirmed Measles Case in Central Kentucky

On February 26th, The Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) announced a confirmed case of measles in an adult who recently traveled internationally to an area with ongoing measles transmission. This is the first confirmed case of measles in a Kentucky resident since February 2023. Kentucky health officials are working to identify and contact individuals who may have been exposed. KDPH has issued a health alert with guidance for healthcare providers on handling suspect measles cases.

KDPH encourages Kentuckians to stay up to date on their routine measles vaccinations and contact their healthcare provider if they have been exposed and develop symptoms.
